Graduation Requirements

Academy of Qi Dao offers a progression of programs from Basic to Advanced Practitioner and beyond. The requirements for each of these certificates may be satisfied by a combination of weeklong retreats and regular classes. It is possible to substitute some of the study on campus with quarterly weeklong retreats conducted at various retreat centers and through personal coaching, which must be arranged on an individual basis.

The Basic and Intermediate Practitioner Certificate Courses each require at least one term of course work, including two group classes per week, one seminar per month, weekly semi-private sessions and bi-weekly practice groups.

The Advanced Practitioner Certificate Course requires two more terms of course work, including two group classes per week, one seminar per month, weekly semi-private sessions and bi-weekly practice groups.

To graduate with a Qigong Coach degree the Advanced Student must successfully complete the Advanced Practitioner program plus at least one year of Apprenticeship, which may be done simultaneously with the training. To graduate with the degree of a Qigong Master Coach the Graduate Student must successfully complete the Master’s program, a thesis and at least one year of Internship, which may be done simultaneously with the training.

To graduate with a Ph.D. in Tibetan Shamanic Qigong the Postgraduate Student must complete at least one year of Residency at Portland Qigong Clinic, or other clinic affiliated with the Academy. During the Residency, they will also be required to conduct original research and development at the clinic, and complete a dissertation based on such research.
